Back when the PlayStation Vita launched in 2012, it included a full length Uncharted adventure named Golden Abyss. Set before the events of Drake’s Fortune, Nathan Drake and Victor Sullivan were on a mission to find Quivira, one of the seven cities of gold. Featuring high resolution graphics that showed the true power of the PlayStation Vita, many fans wondered if the game would be remastered alongside it’s PlayStation 3 cousins. Sadly, it has been confirmed that Golden Abyss will remain a portable adventure for the foreseeable future.
Arne Meyer, a team member of Naughty Dog confirmed the exclusion at EGX a few weeks previously, stating that the team had considered putting Drake’s solitary portable outing on PlayStation 4. Eventually, it was decided that the original three games, Drake’s Fortune, Among Thieves and Drake’s Deception would be better suited to set up the story for Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, the final entry in the franchise which will arrive in March 2016.
