Project X Zone 2 (subtitled as Brave New World in Japan), the sequel to the 3-way crossover RPG featuring characters from Capcom, Namco Bandai, and Sega, just got a little more interesting. For the first time in the series, the roster is being shaken up by the inclusion of characters from another Japanese heavyweight, Nintendo. Fitting, given that the game will appear on the Nintendo 3DS. The new characters joining the likes of Capcom’s Ryu, Namco’s Jin Kazama and Sega’s Shinobi-star Hotsuma are Lucina and Chrom from Nintendo’s Fire Emblem Awakening.
Fans of Xenoblade Chronicles will be pleased to see the inclusion of Fiora from that game too, as she’ll be pairing up with KOS-MOS from Xenosaga, creating the ultimate team for fans of games beginning with “Xeno”.
Project X Zone 2 is a tactical RPG featuring a roster of units consisting of a team of two characters – for example, just like the original game, Ryu and Ken are a team. The game features a ton of character pairs, as well as a slew of single-character assists including Axel from the classic Streets of Rage and Leon Kennedy from Resident Evil 4.
Project X Zone 2 releases on Nintendo 3DS in Japan in November, but Western audiences will have to wait until February 2016 to get their hands on it.
