Castle Crashers Remastered Gets Release Date

The long-awaited remaster of the ever popular 2D adventure game Castle Crashers will be hitting the Xbox One download market a lot sooner than originally thought. In a statement from developers The Behemoth, Castle Crashers Remastered will be unleashed to the public on the 9th of September.

It’s been seven years since the Castle Crashers debuted online but its addictive gameplay has kept it a cult favourite overtime with many players still enjoying it to this day. Acting as a throwback to the likes of Streets of Rage (only with added RPG elements), the original game saw up to four players take on the role of different coloured knights fighting through a cartoon fantasy world full of ogres, dragons and magic. This new remastered version isn’t a simple HD polish of the original either, several new features have been added to the game:

  • A brand new mini-game Back Off Barbarian. Jump and hop across the level to avoid the enemies!
  • Larger textures and twice the frame-rate of the original Castle Crashers for Xbox 360
  • Unlock more than 25 characters and over 40 weapons!
  • Intuitive combo and magic system: Unlock an arsenal of new attacks as your character progresses through the game.
  • Level up your character and adjust Strength, Magic, Defence, and Agility.
  • Adorable animal orbs are your companions. Each adds different abilities to aid you on your journey.
  • Arena mode: Battle other players in free-for-all or team matches!
  • Insane Mode: Test your skills in the ultimate campaign challenge

Whilst a lot of has been thrown into the mix for this new remastered version, there has been no word on wether or not there will be a release on PC or the Playstation 4.
