HTC Team Up With Valve to Bring DOTA 2 to Vive VR

At gamescom 2015 this week HTC is showcasing their Vive VR platform with Valve. The “Secret Shop” is a Dota 2 experience, the massive eSports title which has over 20 million players will show gamers what it is like in virtual reality. The International is also happening this week for Dota 2 in Key Arena in Seattle which pits 16 of the world’s top teams against each other for the $18 million prize pot.

In addition to the Dota 2 demo, HTC are also featuring the following Vive VR experiences at the Secret Shop:

Vive combines Valve’s Steam VR tracking and input tech with HTC’s design and engineering which is planning on a consumer version for sometime in 2015. The exact date is TBC.

Vive is said to offer the “most immersive experience of any VR package” with the Full Room Scale 360 Degree solution, players will be able to get up and walk around the virtual space allowing you to explore unlike any other VR system. being controlled by two wireless controllers running at 90 frames a section and high quality graphics and audio HTC hope to bring immersion to the next level.

The Beta version of the kit is already available and has been in the hands of top designers including Vertigo Games, Bossa, Barry –Fireproof, Dovetail Games, WEVR Labs, Google, Steel Wool Games and Owlchemy.
