For all you Gears fans out there, Microsoft have announced that those who buy the Gears of War: Ultimate Edition or the Xbox One Gears of War: Ultimate Edition Bundle, you will gain access to all previous Gears of War games when the Xbox One’s backwards compatibility feature goes live in autumn. If you play the remastered version of Gears of War on Xbox Live between August 25th and December 31st, you will gain access to the other Gears titles. Of course, if you still have the discs of the previous Gears games, you will be able to play them all once the Backwards Compatibility update is available so you don’t have to buy the Ultimate Edition in order to play through the series on Xbox One.

Remember, you also gain access to the Gears of War 4 multiplayer beta should you buy the Ultimate Edition so if you want to get in early on the brand new entry in the Gears universe, make sure you get this next-gen remaster.
