You’ve activated my trap card, and it’s one of my favourites. Yu-Gi-Oh! Legacy of the Duelist will be hitting Xbox One and PS4 on July 31st. Under the guise of a dueling simulation program, you’ll be able to relive all those classic moments from the TV series, from the original Yu-Gi-Oh all the way through to the new series, Yu-Gi-Oh ARC-V. Sadly this does mean you’ll have to go through the GX and ZEXAL story arcs, but at least 5D’s was good, so there is a respite in the middle.
Boasting over 6,600 cards including the new Pendulum monsters, this is set to be the biggest Yu-Gi-Oh game to date, and unlike its predecessor, Millennium Duels, Legacy of the Duelist apparently has a progression and card unlocking system that doesn’t suck ass. We’ll see Konami, we shall see.
Whilst not every card is getting the VIP treatment, a ton of the most popular and signature monsters will be getting their own summoning and attack animations. Check out the Dark Magician in all his moderately HD glory below.
Yu-Gi-Oh! Legacy of the Duelist will be on sale this friday 31st July for $19.99. Not sure on the UK price at this time, but it’s safe to assume it will be in the £15-16 region. If all the good cards are DLC locked again, I’ll be Black Rose Dragon-ing Konami headquarters, mark my words.
