Undead Darlings JRPG Dungeon Crawler Lands on Kickstarter

Undead Darlings is a dungeon crawling, visual novel that is being developed by Mr. Tired Media. Undead Darlings ~no cure for love ~ sets out to emulate some of the best parts from Japanese game genres. With mechanics from Japanese RPGs to the look of a visual novel and style of storytelling and character development Undead Darlings looks like the game for any Japanese gaming fan.

The team behind Undead Darlings ~no cure for love ~ have worked at a Japanese publisher for many years and understand what needs to go into a Japanese-style game both with its aesthetic and narrative. The story of Undead Darlings centres around Reginald “Reggie” P. Happenstahnce and his journey to take a cure for the zombie plague his father developed to somewhere safe and mass produced.

Along the way Reggie will meet an army of undead girls, who have held onto their hearts (probably not literal) and along the way Reggie will learn more about each girl and in the true fashion of a visual novel you can develop their feelings for you, maybe enough to test the cure. CG’s which are big in Japanese visual novels will also be unlocked as your progress through the game and of course throughout the game you will have choices presented to you to advance the story. Not just one or two lines though Undead Darlings ~no cure for love ~ will have multiple choices throughout the conversation leading to more unique outcomes.

It is not all about the conversation, you will be able to battle it out in true JRPG fashion. You can issue commands to upto three members in traditional turn based combat with regular attacks and special skills. A custom mechanic allows you to create custom macros which you can then use to “auto-battle” but much more than your standard auto attacks because you have control over what they do. It also plays into Undead Darlings ~no cure for love ~ EE System which exploits enemies weaknesses to stack on damage.

If you like JRPGs / visual novels and anything Japanese you should head over Undead Darlings ~no cure for love ~ Kickstarter page and back a project that you want to see come to life (unlike those girls).
