FIFA 16 to Feature Women’s National Teams

EA Sports have announced that FIFA 16 will include women’s national teams, a first for the massive sporting franchise. The announcement is joined with a trailer and a behind the scenes look at the women to be included in the game.

With new animations, this announcement promises that with life-like head scans and 3D modelling, the women will look and move as they do in real life. The available women’s teams in FIFA 16 are as follows: Germany, USA, France, Sweden, England, Brazil, Canada, Australia, Spain, China, Italy, and Mexico.

This is a welcomed addition to the FIFA series, with all previous editions of the game featuring a fully male roster. Hopefully this is the start of women’s football getting a larger recognition by EA Sport’s footballing franchise. FIFA 16 will be available in September, with more details about the game to be revealed at E3 in June.
