Razer have announced the launch of a new free software platform, Cortex. The software allows players to discover games at discount prices, back up save games and record in-game footage. It also offers utilities from Razer Game Booster in order to enhance gaming performance.

Cortex compares prices across some of the most popular downloadable game services and highlights the best price. It also allows the user to add games to their wish list and notifies them when a game on said list drops in price. Additionally, Cortex will suggest games via a predictive function based on the gaming activity of the user in question.

The service launched on September 10 and has partnered with GOG.com in order to give players access to better discounted games. Through Razer Cortex, players can currently purchase eight games, one of which is The Witcher 2, at heavily discounted prices.

50,000 users tried out the software in a two week free access period before its official launch, and it’s partnership with GOG signals intent to provide gamers with the best deals possible. The software can be obtained on Razer’s website.
