In news coming from Capcom today, a remastered version of the Gamecube port of Resident Evil 1 is coming to Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, PS4 and PC in early 2015. The game will be a digital-only release and will support 1080p visuals (720p for last gen systems) along with surround sound support.

The game will give you the option to play in either widescreen 16:9 format or the classic 4:3 format, as well as a number of control and camera options, should you wish to have the classic Resi experience or an updated one. There has been no word on if there is a Wii U version in the works but no doubt Capcom will clarify in the coming days.
