Set in Paris during the French Revolution, Assassin’s Creed fans will be hiking across famous landmarks to stem the tide of Templar influence…again. However, this time you will do it with 3 other players, making it the first time you can experience story content with a friend.
The pre-rendered trailer was set to a nifty cover of “Everybody Wants To Rule The World”. Alex Armancio will be the protagonist this time round, yet again donning the infamous cape and hood. He will be using it to merge into much larger crowds, a boon of next-gen technology.
Finishing off the segment of the press conference, the next-gen only Assassin’s Creed featured new free-running mechanics which allowed Alex to scale buildings much faster and in more dynamic ways. Whether this mixes up the gameplay substantially is unknown, but at least it has the flash.
Eagle-eyed players may notice that much of the trailer used mechanics seen in Watch Dogs. Ubisoft will have to evolve if they want to keep gamers engaged in the future.
Assassin’s Creed: Unity will hopefully be out on PS4, Xbox One and PC later this year.
