In a blog post released by 343 Industries’ general manager Bonnie Ross today, she revealed that the next installment in the Halo franchise, titled Halo 5: Guardians, will be released in autumn of 2015 for Xbox One. According to Ross, “Halo 5: Guardians is a bigger effort than Halo 4” and will use a brand new engine to push the Xbox One to its limit and truly show what this generation can do.
Ross also stated that Halo 5: Guardians will run at 60 FPS and have dedicated servers, as well as containing features that the developers “have been dreaming of for more than a decade”. She also hinted that Microsoft’s E3 press conference will reveal a whole lot more about the future of Halo, with her claiming that the briefing will be a “giant leap” in the journey of Halo, referring back to her presentation at last year’s E3.
As well as the release of Halo 5: Guardians in 2015, Ross reminded fans that the Halo TV series, created in collaboration with Steven Spielberg and other industry talents, will be coming that same year and will bring fans both old and new to the Halo universe, enriching and complimenting the game universe very well.
Look out for more Halo news at E3 and in the coming months.
