Disney Infinity 2.0 Announced Featuring Marvel Super Heroes

After weeks of teasers, Nick Fury himself introduced a special live show featuring Agent Coulson himself, Clark Gregg, in which Disney Interactive’s president announced Disney Infinity: Marvel Super Heroes, slated for release this autumn.

After the buyout of Marvel by Disney for $4 billion, it seems like it was only a matter of time before characters such as Captain America or Spiderman appeared as toys and characters a Disney Infinity game in some way. Nick Fury, Captain America, Thor, Iron Man will also be joined by new creation and gameplay options, with the game being developed by Avalanche studios.

Disney has also pointed out that all of the existing figures and bases from Disney Infinity will all work with the new game.

What’s also of note is that Disney is also boasting an out-performance of its direct competitors, namely Activision and its Skylanders series. These figures come from the NPD group according to Disney, who also cited a 79% increase in sales of toy-to-game hybrid products.

Disney announced the game with a new trailer, showing off the New York-inspired cityscapes available in the game.
