Final Fantasy and online RPG fans rejoice; this weekend the PS4 beta for Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn will be free for everyone. Starting right now you can hop on to your PS4 and jump into the action, just as soon as you download the 11GB client and sign in to your Square Enix account. Internet connection depending, you should manage to get onto the game at some point over the free weekend to roam with chocobos and fight some monsters before the game’s release.

Running on the same servers as the PC and PS3 versions, beta players will get a true feel for the game and its community. All the progress you make in the beta will also crossover to the full version, which will be available on April 14th. If you’ve pre-ordered the game, however, you’ll have access from the 11th.
