Amazon US is listing a DriveClub release date of Tuesday September 30, 2014. The retailer has also reportedly begun informing pre-order customers when they can expect to receive the game via email, based on “a new release date” apparently supplied by Sony.
It is alleged Amazon have said that pre-order customers can expect to receive the game between Friday October 3 and Tuesday October 7 within the email.
There has been no comment from Sony as of yet, so we cannot confirm this as the release date. This wouldn’t be the first time Amazon have jumped the gun with release dates, last year they put up release dates for Grand Theft Auto V, inFamous: Second Son and Tomb Raider.
Originally DriveClub was set to be a PS4 launch title, but in October 2013 Sony-owned Evolution Studios announced the racer would be delayed until “early 2014.”
Sony Worldwide Studios America software product development boss Scott Rohde said in March that the game needed to “go back to the drawing board.”
