Gearbox Software’s HD remake of Relic’s Homeworld series has now been renamed Homeworld: Remastered Edition. The name change was due to the updated visuals being created for the two titles.
Announced by Gearbox, both Homeworld 1 & 2 will be part of the collection in their original forms, as well as their HD counterparts. New graphical effects and supported resolutions are the majority of the updates to the games, with “high fidelity” cinematic also being part of the package.
Fans can also vote on what they want in the Collector’s Edition of the game, choosing between a 6″ zinc replica of the Mothership, or a larger 12″ replica with LED lights. Along with this the Collector’s Edition is expected to have an art book and key chain. Pre-orders will be open soon.
While no specific release date was given, both special editions list the estimated delivery date as “Early Autumn, 2014“, giving Homeworld: Remastered Edition a release window.
