Free-to-play RPG Path of Exile will be getting its first expansion in the form of Sacrifice of the Vaal in a few days.

Scheduled for release March 5, Grinding Gear Games are adding new corrupted items and boss fights in this free major update. The first of its kind for the title, each one is planned to arrive every four months.

The content for Path of Exile: Sacrifice of the Vaal will be sprinkled throughout the experience, rather than one massive clump of new content added onto the side. It is certainly one way of bringing players back to their “ethical” free-to-play model.
