Since the release of Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 last month, some curious gamers have been looking into the game a little closer than most. Going through the back door of the PC version, fans have found details about some additional content in the game text files, which presumably points to future DLC. They also found details on the bonus features that were available with the Dracula’s Tomb Premium Edition copy of Lords of Shadow 2, such as costumes, which may mean that these too will become available at some point.

The discovered text, titled ‘Revelations,’ reads as follows.

Play as Alucard and reveal a whole new aspect of Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2. Uncover new plotlines and discover the true extent of Alucard’s involvement!

Play as Alucard in this extensive add on for Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2. The immersive story is expanded further as new branches of the plot are uncovered, along with rich new environments and challenging puzzles. Fight creatures of darkness and discover the true extent of Alucard’s involvement in Dracula’s story, his deal with death and his fight against Satan. Experience a whole new aspect of the thrilling conclusion to the ‘Lords of Shadow’ saga, including some enlightening revelations!

This could be a very interesting addition to the game to both tie up some loose ends and show a new perspective of the events of Lords of Shadow 2. Having completed the game myself, I would be very keen to see Alucard’s side to the story, and just how far involved he was with Dracula’s journey.

With no official word on DLC yet, we will of course have to take this reveal with a pinch of salt. That said, it does seem pretty likely that should MercurySteam decide to release extra content, Alucard would be the star.
