Earlier this month Tony Hawk spoke on his radio show about a new game in the works, but very little else was revealed. Now, the skater has told Bloomberg “We’re working on a mobile game now. We’re working on a game for mobile devices this year.”

“We’ve never gone exclusively in that direction yet so I’m excited because, with the amount of time people are spending on their phones and their tablets playing games, we’ve never had our own game in that space so I’m excited to provide one finally.”

Activision, who has published the Tony Hawk series on console since 1999, confirmed their collaboration with Hawk on a new project and “more info is coming soon,” the company said.

In October 2013, Hawk said he would like to see the series reborn on mobile platforms, telling CNBC: “You just have to adapt and you have to realise where people are going to actually play their games, It used to just be Nintendo and PlayStation, and now it’s all kind of devices. So you’ve got to learn to adapt what you know from the technology into those areas. I’ve been wanting to do a mobile game for a long time.”
