Assassin’s Creed IV: Freedom Cry Now Available On PS3 and PS4 As Standalone Title

Assassin’s Creed IV: Freedom Cry is now available through PSN for the PS3 and PS4 as a standalone title, not requiring the original game.

Announced on the Playstation blog, this comes as good news for anyone who traded in Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, or someone who wants to dip their toe into the pirate filled waters of the series. It will cost $14.99, with the previously downloadable only content lasting between 4-5 hours.

Assassin’s Creed IV: Freedom Cry focuses on Adewale, Edward Kenway’s first mate and now a full-time assassin. Set on breaking the slave trade, it has a distinctly darker tone than the rest of the series.

The PC version will be available February 25, and no Xbox version is planned.
