Today, Microsoft have announced a headset and adaptor designed for Xbox One. While intended for use with the console, the headset is also compatible with PC and mobile/tablet devices.

The new Stereo Headset boasts a premium, full-range audio experience, with a unidirectional microphone. It does not require batteries as it is passively powered through the Xbox One wireless controller. Bundled in with the hardware is a detachable Stereo Headset Adaptor, that allows you to control the audio at the touch of a button. With it you can change both the game and chat audio levels, control the master volume, and mute the microphone.

You can also pick up the Stereo Headset Adaptor separately, should you already have a compatible gaming headset. You can find more information on compatible hardware on the accessories page of the Xbox website.

The headset and adaptor will be available worldwide in early March. The double package will cost $79.99, while the adaptor alone will set you back $25.99.
