Borderlands 2 will be receiving even more DLC content this year. Announced during the recent Take-Two Interactive third-quarter earnings call, the game was also bestowed the honor of being Take-Two’s highest-selling game of all time, shipping 8.5 million copies to date.
During the report, transcribed on SeekingAlpha, Take-Two chairman and chief executive officer, Strauss Zelnick, stated:
“In the 16 months following the title launch, we released nine substantial downloadable offerings, dozens of smaller character customizations, and we have plans to release more downloadable content in the coming months.“
It is unknown if this DLC will be more story-based content, or skins to deck your vault-hunters out with. For those who would rather see some hard sales figures, the Take-Two official site has everything you need.
It is safe to assume that the success of Borderlands 2 will lead to a third title being developed soon, if it isn’t already begun. Then Gearbox can create DLC for that, and the cycle can begin anew.
