Following the bankruptcy of Neverland last year, the future was unclear for Rune Factory 4’s journey to European shores. However, today Marvelous AQL Europe has dashed all fans’ hopes by confirming that the title has been cancelled. Their statement is as follows.

“We regret to inform you that the European release of Rune Factory 4 for Nintendo 3DS has been cancelled. While MarvelousAQL has made every effort to secure the title’s release for this territory, it is, unfortunately, not possible to do so at this time.”

Rune Factory 4 has been regarded as one of the best entries in the series, and was originally scheduled for a Spring 2014 release in Europe. While the fate of the series still remains a mystery, it doesn’t look promising for any future titles at the moment.
