Modder Removes Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance 1080p Limit Within Hours of Release

It appears that the NeoGaf modder Durante has managed to remove the 1080p resolution limit for Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance on PC, and in just a few hours of the games official release on Steam.

Developers Platinum Games and Kojima Productions were criticised after revealing Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance would be limited to a 1080p resolution on PC. However, it seems that this limit can be easily over-ridden and could be banished with a simple patch or update for the game.

“It does in fact ask your system what resolutions your monitor supports, and even launches in its native resolution as far as I can tell, but then renders to an offscreen buffer of the resolution you select in the options.” Durante posts.

It is unknown why Konami decided to limit the game as it’s a rare move, but we can hope an official patch is released to remove the restriction.

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is avaible now on Steam and was released last year for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
