Tomb Raider Definitive Edition will not be released on PC, and there have been no upgrade discounts or promotions for owners of the original title.
“Tomb Raider Definitive Edition was designed and rebuilt from the ground up for next-generation consoles,” Eidos said in a FAQ posted on its forums. “At this time a PC update is not planned.”
The upcoming console release will feature several exclusive re-touched to the game and Lara. Tomb Raider Definitive Edition includes all of the original game’s DLC along with a digital comic book, digital art book, and a documentary series called The Final Hours of Tomb Raider.
Edios has confirmed that the Definitive Edition will cost $60 at retail and as a digital download at launch on January 28 in North America and January 31 in Europe.
Fans should not expect any new story elements or hints in the game, but the FAQ tells the Definitive Edition is Edios’ “first movement towards what a next-generation Lara will look like – the calibre of model you’ll see in her future adventures”.
