In an odd variant of the circle of life, servers for specific PS3 games will be falling silent as we transition to the next generation of consoles. Joystiq reported that Sony announced a handful of titles that will be taking their final bow early next year.
Grand Turismo 5, as well as the PS3 Resistance trilogy, are the largest games on the list that will have their servers shut-off. Grand Turismo 5’s online components will close May 20, 2014, where as Resistance will disappear on the closerr date of March 28, 2014.
The other affected titles are MAG, as well as both SOCOM: Special Forces and SOCOM: Confrontation. As both MAG and SOCOM: Confrontation are online only, this effectively renders the title unplayable. All three titles are playable until January 28, so we hope you enjoy the games while they last.
What do you think? What titles would you hate to see disappear the most? Let us know in the comments.
