Battlefield 4 has been banned in China due to DLCChina Rising. According to Techie News, the Chinese government has accused Electronic Arts, the titles’ publisher, of creating a form of cultural invasion and threatens the national security of the country.
China’s Ministry of Culture has issued a notice banning all material related to the game and any form of the game itself.
China Rising is the first DLC for the title, set in 2020 the DLC portrays China in the middle of an internal war triggered by Admiral Chang who wants to overthrow the government and with the support of Russia war breaks out between China and the U.S.
Electronic Arts has not yet commented on the matter, but as they don’t sell Battlefield 4 in China it may not take much effect.
