EA Faces Class-Action Lawsuit Due To Battlefield 4

Electronic Arts faced scrutiny and ire from gamers after the launch of Battlefield 4. A numerous amount of glitches, and other errors were causing players all sorts of unpleasant experiences.

Now it seems that EA could be in serious legal trouble after its game launch, due to the glitches, and whether or not EA falsely advertised the product. I Game Responsibly reports that EA is being hit with a class action lawsuit, in which a law firm (Robbins Geller Rduman & Dowd) is investigating whether or not EA misrepresented the strength of the launch, particularly on Sony’s Playstation 4.

“The complaint alleges that during the Class Period, defendants issued materially false and misleading statements highlighting the purported strength of the Company’s rollout of version 4 of its all-important Battlefield video game series,”

You can read I Game Responsibly’s full re-print of the official press release here. Of course, this is early days yet, but it will be interesting to see how EA deals with the situation and how gamers who feel ripped off by or disappointed in Battlefield 4’s launch will observe the situation.

What do you think? Did you feel disappointed by Battlefield 4’s glitches? Is it right that EA is being sued over it? Let us know in the comments below.
