Capcom has announced via its Capcom-Unity blog that Ultra Street Fighter IV is coming in June 2014 as both a DLC upgrade and as a standalone disc.
Ultra Street Fighter IV is coming to PS3 and Xbox 360 in June and PC in August 2014. Capcom’s fighter is the technically the 5th major update to the Street Fighter IV series since its original release in arcades in the US and Japan in the summer of 2008. Ultra contains new characters, new stages and new mechanics, which brings the in-game roster to over 40.
Ultra Street Fighter IV’s release on consoles in June should please the hardcore competitive scene, as it’s released just in time for Evolution 2014, the world’s largest fighting game tournament. According to Capcom’s Peter “Combofiend” Rosas, an ex-community player turned Capcom rep, the reason for the gap between releases of the console and PC versions is to ensure the game comes out in time for EVO.
Ultra Street Fighter IV will be available on PS3 and Xbox 360 in June 2014, for $14.99/€14.99 as a digital upgrade for Super Street Fighter IV or as a standalone edition (featuring all previously released costume DLC) for $39.99/€39.99.
