Today the price of microtransactions within Gran Turismo 6 has been placed online, with players able to spent up to $150 for the most expensive car within the game the Jaguar XJ13.
This reveal has sparked strong debate within the community, but SCE Worldwide Studios Shuhei Yoshida commented on the issue through Twitter, defending this move by the series. For Yoshida, Gran Turismo 6’s microtransactions are no more than an alternative for people who do not have time to pick up in-game currency and that microtransactions are not truly a bad thing.
What do you make of Shuhei Yoshida’s view? Do you believe microtransactions should be viewed in this way? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
