Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn has seen to have gone from strength to strength this year, a far cry from it’s origins with the original Final Fantasy XIV. It seems that the title shall soon be launched through Steam for digital download, confirmed by Director and Producer Naoki Yoshida in an interview with Dengeki Online. 

“With this kind of MMORPG charging starts with launch, and after the initial large intake of user stops, the numbers are either held stable or start declining slowly, with people coming back with expansions and changes. But nearly 100,000 new players come in every month, and a launch on Steam will also come soon. This will bring a lot of new players especially from the United States and Europe. With the addition of the PS4 version, the launch in China which is the largest MMORPG market in the world, and inquiries from Taiwan, Russia and South Korea for the future, I feel we’re just standing on the starting line.”
