Indie developer Flippfly have announced that they will be releasing Race The Sun onto Steam December 9. This version of the game will also come with a handful of extra features that they made specifically for the Steam version.
After passing Steam Greenlight in August, Flippfly have been working away remaking their Unity based arcade game. Racing a constantly setting sun, players must keep their speed up so their solar-powered vehicle doesn’t run out of juice.
The new features as listed on the official site are:
- Achievements: We’ve got a bunch of ‘em.
- Cloud Saves: You’ll be able to transfer your existing save game into Steam cloud, and then it’ll be available everywhere.
- Trading Cards: Created by SamCube, the artist who made our poster (see example artwork above!)
- Leaderboards: Both daily and all-time Steam leaderboards, with filters for global/friends/my scores.
- Workshop: You’ll be able to browse and share user worlds on Steam Workshop, as well as rate, comment, etc.
- Big Picture Mode: The game looks great on HD screens, and we have controller support for everything but the level editor.
Anyone who has previously bought the game through other outlets will be getting a free steamkey for Race The Sun. You can already buy the game though the official site or GOG.com.
