Rockstar have announced today that they will be releasing an enhanced version of their 2004 hit, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, onto mobiles.
To live up to the “enhanced” part of the description, the port will feature improved draw distances, better shadows and more detailed character models. If anything, this will highlight how much technology has jumped forward in the nine years since the games release. Once played on a large plastic brick, a better looking version of the same game can now be played on a device smaller than most peoples hands.
Touch controls will be improved over the ones used in the GTA3 and Vice City mobile conversions, and will feature contextual button displays. For those not inclined to smear their thumbs all over the screen, specific controller input will be usable.
Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas should be coming to mobiles this December for select iOS, Android, Windows and Amazon Kindle devices. No prices have been announced as of yet.
