The second free expansion to the MMORPG, Neverwinter will be launched on December 5, 2013. The expansion, named Shadowmantle introduces a new Hunter Ranger character class and the Dread Rising Zone.

“We’re incredibly excited to share the release date of Shadowmantle – our second free expansion”, says Cryptic Studios Executive Producer and COO, Craig Zinkievich.

“Shadowmantle continues to fuel excitement and great adventures for D&D fans.  Supporting great storytelling through our digital partners continues to be a priority for the brand and this latest module delivers on that promise,” tells Nathan Stewart, Brand Director for D&D and Wizards of the Coast.

Shadowmantle brings in the Dread Rising campaign based in and around the Dread Ring which is a massive structure built for ritual magic. Players will explore the surrounding of the dilapidated building and fight agains Valindra Shadowmantle’s army. It will also include new Artifacts, Collections and Paragon Paths for the original classes.

Neverwinter is set in the Dungeons and Dragons Forgotten Realms universe. Players explore the vast city and dungeons of Neverwinter as you battle its many enemies, or even create their own quests and campaigns.
