Blockbuster has been in trouble for a long while, even before recently entering administration for the second time last month. Things are getting progressively worst as the BBC has reported that the chain would be closing 72 stores across the UK.
The companies administrator. Moorfields Corporate Recovery, has stated that the news will be “extremely upsetting” to staff and that it was “not easy decision to make”. 452 jobs are said to be effected by the changes.
The choice was apparently made to “turn around the business“, with this news coming shortly after the reported closure of 300 US stores.
What do you think? Is this a sign of the times? Let us know in the comments.
