Warframe was released on Steam earlier this year, and has enjoyed a userbase that was drawn to its free-to-play sc-fi world ever since. Today the developer, Digital Extremes, acquired a publisher in the form of Bigpoint.
Based in Germany, Bigpoint publishes many free to play online games, and it’s adding Warframe to its portfolio. Marcus Behrens, Head of Publishing at Bigpoint, said:
“We are proud to add Warframe to our online portfolio and believe it has huge potential to become one of our most played games. Warframe boasts incredibly rich graphics and a spectacular gameplay experience with close combat mechanics as well as a fantastic co-op mode.”
Warframe is now linked to more than 180 payment methods with this deal, and Bigpoint will also be providing marketing via social media and advertising. Digital Extremes’ James Schmalz said:
“Bigpoint’s position as a world-leading F2P online expert gives us exactly what we want for the game: direct access to really engaged gamers all over the globe. We have put our heart and soul into this game and we want only the best for it. We are confident that we have created an extraordinary piece of entertainment which offers these sophisticated players a great gaming experience.”
