£5,500 For The Ultimate VIDEO GAME Holiday?

For those wanting to travel the world and see the gaming highlights out there, well, it’s now possible. The perfect package holiday for gamers has been created, at a cost of £5,500 per ticket. The four week extravaganza, forged by store chain GAME and STA Travel would cover over three continents and eight different countries.

The adventure would begin in Edinburgh, home of Rockstar North and the Grand Theft Auto series, Red Dead and Max Payne. The next stop is over to London to see the Loading Bar in Soho, crafted after some famous gaming cafes in Tokyo. Next is Phuket in Thailand where gamers would be taken to Phang Nga Bay where inspiration for the Lara Croft series was taken from. Seoul, South Korea is our follow up destination where gamers would be taken around the e-sports Stadium where professional gaming has reached a whole new apex.

Unsurprisingly Tokyo, Japan is shortly after, where individuals would be taken to the Konami headquarters and Tokyo Station, which hosts the largest arcade experience. Once the old school arcade fanboys/fangirls within us have been satisfied we move on to Los Angeles, home of the E3 conference and famous landmarks seen in games such as L.A. Noire and Grand Theft Auto’s Los Santos.

This is all simply the beginning, with New Hampshire, Texas and other landmarks making their display in the tour.

Ailsa McKnight, marketing director of Game Retail Ltd, said: “The Epic Gaming Adventure is an all-out celebration of gaming. This ambitious trip will take gamers on a journey through the rich history of video game culture, taking in the birthplace of modern gaming, to Seoul where it something of a national pastime, whilst taking a look at the exciting developments still to come.” McKnight continues, “We understand gamers and want to offer the gaming community something more than the standard beach holiday. We think this will be a highly desirable Christmas present for any gamer. I know this trip will definitely top my Christmas wish list.”

Neil Hassall, marketing manager at STA Travel, added:

“For gamers this trip is a backstage pass to some of the most iconic settings in the world’s most famous games – a truly once-in-a-lifetime experience. We’re delighted to be adding our travel expertise into the mix to introduce gamers to some of the most awe-inspiring landscapes and cities in the world.”
