A New Study has Shown That Playing Video Games Can Increase Your Brain Size

A recent study has found that by playing video games, you can increase your brain size. More specifically, by playing Super Mario 64 for half an hour every day for two months, it was found that the right hippocampal formation, right dorsolateral prefrontal cortex, and bilateral cerebellum (the areas of your brain that govern spatial navigation, strategic planning and memory to name a few) increased in size.

The researchers involved in this study have stated that gaming (in theory) could help people who contract diseases that make brains shrink (such as Alzhemier’s and post traumatic stress disorder), almost like a mental version of physical therapy.

This is interesting news and could be extremely beneficial to health industry with more research, but don’t you like the sound of people being prescribed video games which can help them get better?
