Extra Life, a charity aimed at aiding Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, has been the victim of four DDoS attacks during their annual charity drive.
The Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks came during a 25 hour stream that ended only hours ago. All was not doom and gloom however, with the stream continuing after each attack. While they did sadly lead to some downtime, it did little to curb the enthusiasm of those working on the stream.
When the stream finished the total amount raised was $3,404,486, donated by 29,381 gamers worldwide. A fantastic sum donated by a very generous community.
If you want to donate to Extra Life you can find the donation page here.
What do you think? How horrid must a individual be to try and prevent money being raised for children? Let us know what you think in the comments.
