Assassin’s Creed: Rising Phoenix Appears From The Ashes

Assassin’s Creed: Rising Phoenix was a rumored Ubisoft project that first appeared earlier this year. The leaked logo image, as well as a piece of concept art, were almost immediately dismissed as being fake by Ubisoft.

This apparently “fake” project however has reared it’s head once again, in Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag. Without spoiling the game, the logo can be seen in certain places of the first-person, present day portions of the game. It seems Ubisoft was telling a few fibs when the images first appeared then. Now they may be teasing an actual project, not some internet tom-foolery.

What is Rising Phoenix though? Many deduced it was an Assassin’s Creed animated movie, similar to Ascendance and Embers, due to the original leak bearing the mark of Ubisoft Digital Arts. The images also display an inverted form of the Abstergo logo, a symbol of the Erudito network. This largely unknown third faction appeared in Assassin’s Creed: Liberation and opposes the Templars much like the Assassins.

What do you think? Could this be another animated project or perhaps the next game in the series? Let us know in the comments.
