Tecmo Koei and Team Ninja have today announced the released date for their upcoming hack’n’slash, Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z, which is currently set at February 28th, 2014.

Developed with input from famed creator Keiji Inafune, the game stars Yaiba, a ninja who was brutally murdered by series protagonist Ryu Hayabusa, but brought back as a cyborg who will slaughter scores of zombies in a quest for vengeance. 

The game’s stylized comic-book look and its brash, talkative protagonist makes a departure from previous Ninja Gaiden games, but it should be an interesting title when it releases next year on Ps3 and Xbox 360. For more on Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z you can check out our preview of the game.
