Namco Bandal Games has today announced that the HD port of its classic Soul Calibur II is coming to PSN and Xbox Live Arcade on November 20th.
Soul Calibur II was originally released in 2003 to widespread critical acclaim, for its then-exemplary graphics, ultra-fast gameplay, and wealth of content. When the game was first released, it featured an exclsuive guest character depending on the console it was bought on; the PS2 got Heihachi from Tekken, Xbox got Todd McFarlane’s Spawn and Nintendo’s Gamecube got Link from the Legend of Zelda. Soul Calibur II HD Online will feature both Heihachi and Spawn, but no version will feature Link for obvious reasons. There is no word on a Wii U port of the game at this time.
Soul Calibur II HD Online will include Weapon Master mode, the lengthy RPG-campaign that made up one of the game’s many single-player options, and of course, online vs mode so you can finally challenge the world in Soul Calibur II.
Soul Calibur II HD Online will be released on November 20th, 2013, for Xbox Live and PSN at £13.49 and £14.99 respectively. What do you think? Will you be downloading this title? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
