Rift: Free-To-Play Version Now On Steam

Rift, the fantasy MMO from developer Trion Worlds, went free-to-play back in June, but it is only now that the F2P version has made its way onto Steam.

Anyone who downloads and plays the game will be able to access the entire game world and all the content of its 16 major updates since its release in 2011. The MMO boasts dynamic events in the form of Rifts – portals that will open up randomly, creating a dynamic PvPvE world. Also the game will feature all your favorite MMO features, such as a massive world and incredibly difficult raids.

Trion Worlds has launched three Special Editions that players can purchase.  These are “filled with perks and credits to give players a head start as the into Telara: The Rift Ascended Edition, the Rift Patron Edition, and the Rift Ultimate Hardcore Patron Edition”.

What do you think? Will you downloading the game now that it’s free to play? Did you already buy Rift back in 2011? Let us know in the comments below.
