The multiplayer servers for Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag are already live even though the game won’t be launching until Oct. 29th
Tim Browne, the lead multiplayer designer for Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag has confirmed over Twitter.
“Yes the AC4 multiplayer servers are up and running,” he wrote. “To make things fair though we will reset the Ladders at launch.”
This seems to be due to certain retailers sending out copies of the game early.
“The players currently playing haven’t done anything wrong. Retailers have sent out copies early and we don’t believe in punishing innocent[s].”
Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag comes to PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on Oct 29th. The versions for Windows PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and the Wii U will be available in November.
