Ubisoft first released Rocksmith in October 2011 to the American market where it received much praise. So much praise in fact that this week Ubisoft have released the sequel Ubisoft 2014 edition. Rocksmith boasts that it can teach aspiring guitarists how to play in just 60 days and has already taught over 1.5 million players with its previous installment.
With the inclusion of the new Session mode, Rocksmith 2014 allows players to utilise what they have learnt in game to create their own songs accompanied by a virtual band. With a choice of music style and over 70 instruments to play alongside. Also included is a new multiplayer mode to allow you to play alongside your friends.
Rocksmith 2014 has an impressive tracklist, boasting 55 songs by artists including Muse, Foo Fighters, R.E.M and The Rolling Stones. There is also more to come with DLC planned including songs by Queens of the Stone Age. Owners of the original Rocksmith can also export 52 songs over to the new game along with any DLC that has been purchased for the original.
Three versions of the game are available for purchase. For new guitarists, there is the guitar bundle which includes the Rocksmith Real Tone Cable, an Epiphone Les Paul Jr guitar and the game. For those who already own a guitar the game is available in a standard edition which just the cable and game or for those with all the equipment and just want the software, the game is also available as a standalone copy.
