Lineage – 64 Year-Old Woman Attempts to Sue Over Lost Virtual Item Worth $28,000

Whilst Lineage a title brought out in 1998 was shut down sever wise in most continues in 2011 the title is still pushing on in South Korea. On the game Items can be “enchanted” but, if your unsuccessful the item is destroyed.
This is the back story to a 64 Year-Old Woman who has sued NCsoft this spring over a lost Lineage weapon. The item was known as the Jin Myung Hwang’s Conduct Sword which can gain around $28,000 in the resale market.

The Woman apparently accidentally tried to enchant this very rare item whilst attempting to enchant another, cheaper item. Enchantment failed, and the weapon was destroyed, thus leading to the law suit. The Court working on the case displayed the Woman’s game log, which indicated that she had attempted to enchant other items after the rare sword. She also purchased in-game scrolls around the same time to increase her enhancing abilities. Whilst it may have been an accident, the court ruled that NCsoft had no need to restore the item.
