Konami and Mercury steam have today released an HD upgrade of the 3DS original Castlevania: Lords Of Shadow – Mirror Of Fate.

The 2D side-scrolling action game casts players as the original Castlevania vampire killers Simon Belmont and Trevor Belmont. Featuring 2d platforming and combat, the game will surely harken back to its 8-bit and 16-bit roots. The story deals with Trevor Belmont’s quest to rid the world of Dracula, who has declared war on the Brotherhood of Light, of which Trevor is a member. The game boasts a large combo list, as well as depth in its combat system afforded by the use of magical abilities.

The new HD version adds a Boss Rush mode for die-hard players, and even exclusive eventual access to a demo of the upcoming Castlevania: Lords Of Shadow 2, which is releasing next year.
