Wizards of the Coast is continuing its in-store play experience named Hero’s Path with Theros Game Day’s in stores this weekend (19^th-20^th October).

Through a series of nine quests, players are called to become heros by participating in puzzles and battles to earn a unique hero card.

This is the third quest on the Hero’s Path. You will be put up against a fierce hydra along with three other players, pitting against the Face the Hydra Challenge Deck to bring you to victory.

“The hydra challenge deck is a 60-cards. There are 19 head cards and 41 Sorcery cards. Up to four of the 19 heads start on the battlefield based on difficulty. The deck contains only 15 unique cards.”

You can use any deck you have when playing against the Face the Hydra Challenge Deck, including the Standard deck that you bring to play in the Game Day tournament (you don’t need to play in the tournament to join the third quest). You may also play the two Hero Cards that you will have collected from your previous quests.

The hero card you will receive for you victory this weekend is The Slayer, which allows you to start the game with an additional 7 life, and you get a redeemable Planeswalker Points achievement.
