Sucker Punch are offering a rather wide amount of goodies for those willing to pre-order Infamous: Second Son according to there recent announcement. Not only do the Special and Collector’s Edition include the usual extra in-game clothes and special covers that you usually see, but also include a hat, badges and DLC.
The Second Son Limited Edition includes:
- Limited Edition Premium Foil
- Cole’s Legacy – DLC only available through the Special or Limited Edition pack that bridges the seven year gap between Infamous 2 and Second Son across a handful of extra missions
- Cole’s Jacket In-Game
The Second Son Collector’s Edition includes:
- Exclusive Game Cover
- Deslin’s Beanie
- 8 Pins That Deslin Wears In Game
- DUP (Department of Unified Protection) Patch
- Vinyl Decals
- Deslin’s ‘Legendary’ In Game Vest
- Cole’s Legacy DLC
The Limited Edition will cost $59.99, basically the same price as the game would be at retail anyway. The Collector’s Edition will cost a little more at $79.99, basically leveraged on how much you want some pins, a patch, and a hat.
It is odd, and a little sad, to see Sucker Punch using DLC to get people to pre-order the game, and a pretty story critical one at that. While Infamous: Second Son will presumably address how the world got from Infamous 2 to Second Son, ransoming the fate of Cole to get people to pre-order is a rather unfriendly practice.
What do you think? Should Sucker Punch use the fate of Cole to get fans to pre-order? Will you even be pre-ordering it? Let us know in the comments.
