Mad Catz, creator of all sorts of gaming hardware, has today announced that it will be launching its microconsole – called the M.O.J.O for Android – on December 10, 2013 “in limited quantities”.
From today, you can pre-order the machine from the official website with a MSRP of $249.99/£219.99. The M.O.J.O includes an NVIDIA Tegra 4 processor, 2GB RAM, 1080p resolution with HDMI out, Wi-Fi, and will run the Android 4.2.2 OS. You’ll be able to go on the Google Play store and play the higher-end Android games on your TV.
The console comes included with Mad Catz’s own wireless controller, called the C.T.R.LR which will work with existing Android devices such as smart phones, and offers the option of attaching the phone to the controller via a clip. It also includes play/pause/rewind/ buttons for music and video playback.
The President and CEO for Mad Catz offered a statement on the console’s launch.
The M.O.J.O. Micro-Console for Android has attracted strong interest due to its high-performance hardware, open software platform and the ecosystem of accessories. M.O.J.O. is the center piece of our GameSmart mobile initiative and brings core gaming experiences to the mobile platform.”
